CONSISTENCY (part 1).

Hey lovelies,

Happy weekend☺️.

I hope y’all doing good and walking in faith.

Before reading, prepare your mind and heart to learn and unlearn, understand and be enlightened on things.

Consistency in the walk of the Spirit is what produces the power of God. The problem is we have a lazy generation who wants to experience power without sacrifice! We have a lazy church who wants impact without power and power without spiritual pressure! So in the end what we have is a church that resembles the world and not a world that resembles the church!

2 Chronicles 5:13-14, "It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord; So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God"

Lightings and smokes and all other attractive addendums, I like them! But much more I love the true presence of God that overshadows its people whether there are lights or no lights! Much more, I love the lights that come with the word of God! The natural lights make the environment beautiful, but the lights of the Lord make our lives beautiful! But hey the modern church is more preoccupied with the lights of the world than the lights from the word!

Now this write up is not about lights, it's about people who cannot develop the consistency to walk in the things of the Spirit and because of that it lacks the power of God and because it lacks the power of God it begins to chase the shadows and patterns of the world!

Acts 17:6 tells us about the early church! "These that have turned the world upside down come hither also". That is the mission of the church: to turn the world upside down! The early church did just that: they turned the world upside down! The world during their time bends towards the dictates of the church. Today the church bends towards the dictates of the world. All of these are evidence of our powerlessness!

The early church didn't need the light and smoke of the world to experience the power of God for the light from the word was enough to lighten their world! “The Lord sent a word into Jacob and it hath lighted upon Israel!"(Isaiah 9:8).

The early church focused on walking in the things of the Spirit. They were consistently consistent in pursuing the power of God. For about 40 days or more they were in one place praying and waiting for the descent of the Spirit of God as promised by the master.

Acts 1:14 tells us, "These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren". They continued in prayers and supplications and then the power of God fell!

Consistency in the walk of the Spirit brought them an encounter with the power of God! The word continued in this verse from the original translation has the following meanings: to be earnest towards, to persevere, be constantly diligent, and to attend assiduously to all the exercises

This was the spiritual posture of the early church! You read further down to Acts 6:4, the apostles continued in the tradition that brought them the power, “But we will give ourselves continually to prayer and the ministry of the word". The word continually here was also from the same root word used in Acts 1:14. The early church had continuity in the things of the Spirit no wonder there was so much power and the Church exploded (Acts 6:7-8)

What then do you call the normal Christian life? The one that is devoid of fasting? Praying? Studying the word? Giving? Serving? Forgiving? A life devoid of these is a life devoted to the flesh! And a life devoted to the flesh is a life void of the power and influence of the Spirit

Continuity in the things of the Spirit is what brings spiritual productivity and spiritual productivity enhances your all-round productivity! (Acts 6:4, 3 John 2). What we call radical Christianity today was normal Christianity then! And that is the problem of today's church; what ought to be normal we see as radical! Now, what is radical about fasting for 30 days and praying for one hour in tongues? What's radical about praying for 1 hour in tongues every day? Jesus once asked the disciples, "Can't you watch with me for one hour"(Matthew 26:45) Meaning one hour is the least that is expected of a believer! Praying for one hour daily in your understanding or tongues is Christianity 101!

The basics of Christianity that Jesus taught in Matthew 5, the Sermon on the Mount which extended to chapter 6 includes the basic of prayer, fasting, giving, serving, forgiving etc. These basic issues many of us are struggling to grasp today! We argue about fasting, prayer, tithing, forgiving and every other thing we can just argue about! And hewing to ourselves: false teachers' who will tell us not what we need to hear but what we love to hear! What then do you call the normal Christian life? The one that is devoid of fasting? Praying? Studying the word? Giving? Serving? Forgiving? A life devoid of these is a life devoted to the flesh! And a life devoted to the flesh is a life void of the power and influence of the Spirit.

What is life without memories? What is life without moments? What is life without people? What is life without memories? Memories are gifted scenarios Memories are unforgettable  Memories are cherished Memories remind you of the moments  Memories can be good Memories can be bad A of a single memory can either bring a smile to your face or bring tears to you. Memories are a gift to us as humans Memories are to remember at some stages of life. Memories are to be made and created every step of the way. Memories are what we should have and cherish. Some memories can be bad and some good, but all that matters is that they are memories and you remembe...

CONSISTENCY PART2

I t’s that time of the week again and I’m glad you’re  reading this☺️.  Today we’re going to be looking into what it cost to be consistent, because being consistent as some will say  “no be beans” it takes a lot from us as Christians. It is expected of us when we say, “I’m a Christian,” that we model it consistently before others. Not  perfection. Consistency.  But spiritual consistency is costs. In regard to my car,  it  cost me a battery. In regard to our faith, the costs are pricier: Again, spiritual consistency doesn’t mean we’re  perfect, but it does mean we’re honest. It costs us our  pride as we confess our sins to God and to one another   (1 John 1:9; James 5:16). It costs us some sleep, as we get up perhaps 30  minutes earlier to make our relationship with God our  priority each day (Proverbs 8:34-35; Mark 1:35).  Spiritual consistency costs us the daily sacrificing of  our own wills and s...
